Native Pride’s Coronavirus (COVID-19) Response

Tallchief Outdoor Events Center

This Saturday, we will host a very special event at our Tallchief Outdoor Events Center from 10am to 3pm. It’s a Health & Healing Expo that will go beyond the norm of such events by offering information on health and healing not only for the body, but for the mind and spirit as well.

Joining us will be members of traditional medicine and treatment groups, as well as holistic healers and nutritionists, all ready to share their knowledge and practices. There will be presentations on our Tallchief Event Center Stage, ranging from good medical practices to the benefits of essential oils, financial coaching and even a yoga class, along with entertainment by native dancers. There will also be food trucks providing healthy drinks and native foods and drawings for prizes throughout the day.

Equally important, before the Expo begins, at 8am, we will host a traditional Talking/Healing Circle led by Seneca Nation Member, Dennis Bowen, from the Allegany Territory. Bowen is a former president of the Seneca Nation (1994-96.) The circle will address the many forms of racism and racial violence that exist in our community, as well as the tragedies that occurred at the government boarding schools where Native children were forced to “assimilate” to American culture. It is the goal of the circle to help all people try to make sense of these many senseless tragedies and find peace.

Both events are free and open to the public. For more information: Click Here
